Spring 1 Garden Day- 14/01/2026
Year 3 and 4 had a fantastic Garden Day today!
The children completed a continents scavenger hunt linked to our geography learning, created beautiful leaf portraits inspired by our art sequence, made and tested cup telephones as part of our science work, and designed magical fairy doors linked to our English fairy tale unit.  Thank you to those of you who donated trinkets and treasures for our doors, it was very much appreciated! A lovely day of creative, hands-on learning was had by all.
Autumn 2 Garden Day- 03/12/2025

The children had a thoroughly festive Garden Day today. We began the day by making rice crispy cakes in the name of science. This allowed us to discuss the process of melting and how this changes states of matter. While doing this, the children created Christmas decorations for their classroom before heading to the church to see all the trees at the Christmas Tree Festival. In the afternoon we played in the environmental garden before foraging for foliage to create our own Christmas wreaths. It was a fantastic day and the children were all fantastic.
12/11/2025- States of matter science experiment-
In Science this term we have been focusing on states of matter. The children created a brilliant science experiment to understand the process of the water cycle by making their own water cycle in a bag. This allowed them to understand that as the water warms, it evaporates into a gas. This gas then cools and 'rains' down the bag like precipitation.
18/11/2025-Problem solving day
The children had a great morning taking part in problem solving activities. These tasks encouraged children to work in groups, use their communication skills and encourage their teams. It was fantastic to see them working so well as a group, they should be proud of themselves!
