Youth Speaks
Last year our Y6 Youth Speaks team were selected to go through to the South West final of the Rotary Youth Speaks competition,  which took place on Saturday 1st March.  Not only were they the overall WINNERS.  The main speaker, Hal, was awarded best speaker of the competition.  Huge CONGRATULATIONS to Annabelle, Hal and Thea.
The first round of this year's competition is being held on Tuesday 27th January. We are entering four teams and they are all amazing!
Our topics and teams are:
Why every school should have a dog: Charlotte, Zoe and Hollie
Teachers - the truth revealed: Seb, Daisy and Marianne
How smart is too smart?: Zoe, Bania
An unexplained mystery: Flora, Eli and Aria
We also have a wonderful understudy, Edie.
Break a leg teams!

This year the children of Y6 produced a piece of theatre called 'The Voices of War a Cry for Peace' in remembrance of all of those who gave their lives in WW2.

ITV came and filmed the performance and it featured on the local news on Remembrance Day.

Tavistock Primary's Big Choir also performed the piece with support from The Tamar Valley Male Voice Choir.

The Voices of War – A Cry for Peace

A sequence of monologues, narration and songs tracing the human journey from 1918 to 1945.

We are the voices of war

We are the voices of war

We are the echoes of the fallen

We marched through fire and fear

We wrote letters that never came

Wrote words that shall not fade

We are the voices of war
